This valid XHTML document contains some special characters in the following Spanish text. When treated as XML, the default character encoding for XHTML is UTF-8. However, when sent with the typical text/html content type, ISO-8859-1 is used instead. This difference can cause some text to look rather strange.

Note: This example is different from the previous example in that it looks correct in HTML and not in XHTML.
